Dae Y. Lee

Dae Y. Lee, Pharm.D., Esq., CPBS, is a pharmacist attorney in Frier Levitt’s Life Sciences Department. Dae’s practice encompasses pharmacy operations, Plan Sponsor operations and compliance, and Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) regulations. He co-chairs the Plan Sponsor Practice Group with Frier Levitt’s co-founding partner, Jonathan E. Levitt, Esq. Dae advises clients on various matters, including insurance and PBM audits and terminations, wrongful recoupment, wrongful network exclusion, and governmental investigations. For Plan Sponsors, Dae offers a full range of legal services, from PBM contract negotiations to resolving contract disputes and enforcing Plan Sponsor Agreement terms and conditions. Additionally, he prosecutes reimbursement disputes on behalf of healthcare providers and facilities against health insurance companies.  Dae also assists clients in navigating DEA inspections and investigations, state and federal OIG investigations, and government self-disclosures.

In addition to his legal background, Dae has experience, as part of the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy program, in retail pharmacies, hospitals, and an investment bank where he contributed to advising investors about biopharmaceuticals.

Dae is a Certified Pharmacy Benefits Specialist™ (CPBS™). Offered through TransparentRx and accredited by the University of Kentucky School of Pharmacy, the CPBS program is designed to cover complex topics of pharmacy benefit management in order to provide a foundational knowledge required for higher-level evaluation of PBM business operations, fundamentals of PBM pricing, plan design, cost-containment strategies, PBM contracts, PBM procurement, Specialty Pharmacy benefits management, and overall PBM performance with emphasis on cost effectiveness.

Dae is fluent in Korean.
