Phoebe A. Nelson, Esq. is an associate attorney in Frier Levitt’s Healthcare Department who provides legal representation to physicians, healthcare professionals, and laboratories in a wide range of healthcare-related matters.
Her practice focuses on defending clients against payor audits, including Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance matters and overpayment demands, while also addressing issues such as payment suspensions and revocations of billing privileges. Additionally, Phoebe assists clients with credentialing matters, billing disputes, administrative delays, and denials or reductions in payment from payors, along with representing healthcare professionals facing challenges related to the denial of privileges, removal or suspension of licenses, and medical board investigations.
Her overall practice involves defending healthcare clients in cases of administrative, civil, or criminal discipline, ensuring they receive fair treatment while mitigating potential professional and financial consequences.
Phoebe embarked on her legal journey as a Legal Intern at The General Counsel’s Office at Monmouth University, followed by experience as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Alan G. Lesnewich at the Superior Court of New Jersey. After completing her externship, Phoebe worked as an Intern in the Legal Department at Amicus Therapeutics Inc.
Prior to becoming an associate at Frier Levitt, Phoebe served as a Law Clerk at our firm, where Frier Levitt was able to witness firsthand her invaluable contributions. After graduating from Seton Hall University School of Law and receiving her Juris Doctor degree, Phoebe returned to Frier Levitt to continue assisting clients as a trusted legal professional.
