As a former general counsel for a large hospital and an experienced private practice attorney, Todd Brower brings extensive experience and unique insights into his healthcare practice at Frier Levitt. Todd represents hospitals, physicians, physician groups, home health care providers and other healthcare organizations. His practice focuses on regulatory and corporate compliance, acquisitions, affiliations, joint venturing, governance, licensing and reimbursement matters.
Before Frier Levitt, Todd served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel at St. Joseph’s Health System for 7.5 years. Prior to being in-house, he spent over 31 years as a healthcare attorney in private practice representing hospitals, physicians and medical staffs.
Todd has worked with hospitals and health systems with general corporate and regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and other regulatory matters. In addition, he has worked extensively with trustees of hospitals and nonprofit organizations to enhance board performance and education. He leverages his extensive health law experience in the representation of medical staffs, physician groups, individual physicians and practitioners with contractual and disciplinary issues, group practice formations, HIPAA compliance and corporate governance.
Furthermore, Todd has served as a prominent figure in various healthcare and community organizations. He served for a number of years as a member of the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Council on Hospital Governance and served as Board Chairman and Trustee of Essex Valley Healthcare, East Orange General Hospital, and The Foundation for East Orange General Hospital. In addition, he has been an Adjunct Professor at Seton Hall Law School and served on the Board of Trustees of Essex Valley Visiting Nurse Association and as a Member of the Board and President of the Glen Ridge Community Fund. Todd was also recently elected to serve on the Board of Remember Nhu, an organization dedicated to ending child sex slavery through prevention.
Todd holds a Juris Doctor degree from Saint Louis University School of Law where he was Health Law Editor of the School’s Law Journal. Mr. Brower earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Emory University.
