Michael N. Sheflin, Esq. is an associate in Frier Levitt’s Healthcare Department, where he helps clients navigate complicated and complex litigation. Michael’s practice focuses on all aspects of commercial litigation, and his clients include various professionals and commercial entities in the healthcare sector. He is particularly adept at resolving matters which involve large claims and billing datasets, or which present novel issues of first instance in court and on appeal.
Prior to joining Frier Levitt, Michael was in solo practice where he represented individuals and non-profit organizations. He previously worked as an associate at Margolis Edelstein where he practiced professional liability malpractice defense, primarily representing attorneys, engineers, and accountants. Michael has also worked for the Small Business Administration, as well as the Constitutional Rights Clinic where he participated in motion practice and a jury trial before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Michael earned his Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School in Newark, NJ, after which he clerked for the Honorable Margaret Goodzeit, P.J.Ch., and the Honorable Amy O’Connor, J.A.D. Before law school, Michael earned his undergraduate degree from Colgate University where he graduated cum laude. He then completed his Master’s coursework at the American University of Cairo in Egypt, where he studied classical Arabic and learned conversational Egyptian Arabic.
