Maria F. Stahl, Esq., CIPP/US is an associate in Frier Levitt’s Healthcare Department with an emphasis on regulatory and transactional law. Maria’s practice focuses on counseling pharmacies, diagnostic laboratories, healthcare practitioners, manufacturers, and healthcare technology and management companies on regulatory matters, including digital and telehealth data privacy. Additionally, she focuses on fraud, waste and abuse compliance.
Maria advises clients on the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Healthcare Fraud Statute, and applicable state analogues. She also provides counsel to healthcare and life sciences clients on privacy and data security issues, including the HIPAA Privacy Rule and Security Standards & HITECH, and FTC data privacy for personal health records not protected by HIPAA.
Maria also counsels clients as to the federal 340B program and routinely advises covered entities, contract pharmacies, and other stakeholders as to program compliance. Maria has successfully completed the Apexus Advanced 340B Operations Certificate Program to further advance her 340B knowledge.
Prior to joining Frier Levitt, Maria clerked in the New Jersey Appellate Division for the Hon. Heidi W. Currier, J.A.D. Maria received Seton Hall Law’s Excellence in Health Law Graduation Award, which is granted to students with the highest GPA in health law studies.
