Frier Levitt had the privilege of hearing the remarkable story of Holocaust survivor, Mark Schonwetter, as he recounted his experiences of survival, courage, and perseverance. Mark, accompanied by his daughter Isabella Fiske, emphasized the importance of commemorating and discussing the tragic events of the Holocaust. He recounted how his life changed as a young boy in 1939 when he was forced out of his home and spent the following three years in hiding with his sister and mother. His poignant reminder that “We are human beings, we are all the same” struck a chord with the audience, who were deeply moved by the resilience of Mark and his family. This is a truly inspiring story of three survivors who embody the virtues of bravery and compassion.
