Abbas Chaudhry is an associate in Frier Levitt’s Life Sciences Litigation Department. His practice focuses on representing pharmacies, healthcare providers, and other life sciences clients in complex commercial and healthcare-related disputes, including contract matters, Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) reimbursement disputes, DIR fee challenges, and other issues affecting the healthcare industry.
Before returning to Frier Levitt as an associate, Abbas served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Lisa Vignuolo, Presiding Chancery Judge of the Superior Court of New Jersey. In that role, he conducted substantive and procedural legal research, prepared bench memoranda for oral argument and trial, and drafted orders and statements of reasons. Abbas also served as a certified mediator in landlord-tenant, special civil, and small claims matters. Abbas previously served as a 3L Law Clerk in Frier Levitt’s Life Sciences Litigation Department, where he developed experience in healthcare-related commercial litigation and PBM matters.
Abbas brings experience from both the public and private healthcare sectors. As a Legal Extern with CareSource, he assisted with matters involving healthcare regulatory compliance, Medicaid and Medicare, and due diligence related to acquisitions. He also served as a Legal Extern in the Health & Human Services Section of the New Jersey Division of Law, where he assisted with Medicaid matters, enforcement actions involving healthcare providers, and issues before the Office of Administrative Law. As a Research Assistant to Professor Jacob Elberg at Seton Hall University School of Law, Abbas researched Department of Justice civil settlement agreements to examine trends in healthcare-fraud and corruption enforcement.
Abbas earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he completed concentrations in Health Law and Compliance and received the 2025 Excellence in Health Law Graduation Award. While in law school, he served as Secretary of the Health Law Forum and Criminal Law Society, participated in the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Health Law Regulatory & Compliance Competition, and was involved with the Muslim Law Students Association and the 2025 Graduation Speaker Committee. He also completed both the Healthcare Compliance Certificate and Healthcare Compliance Certificate PLUS programs, including an additional specialization in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. Abbas further holds a Certificate in Healthcare Management from Yale School of Management Executive Education and received his B.S.,magna cum laude, in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University.
