Alfred Ragone, Esq. is an associate at Frier Levitt who represents healthcare providers in regulatory, reimbursement, and compliance matters. His practice focuses on license defense proceedings, Medicare and Medicaid audit defense, and administrative appeals involving alleged overpayments and recoupment actions.
Alfred works with physicians and other healthcare providers to analyze billing documentation, interpret CMS guidance, and develop strategic responses to audit findings from government and private payers. He assists clients in challenging payment suspensions, drafting appeals and legal memoranda, and preparing for administrative hearings. Alfred also supports litigation involving Medicaid Fraud Division matters and helps healthcare organizations implement proactive compliance programs designed to strengthen documentation practices and reduce audit risk.
Prior to joining Frier Levitt as an associate, Alfred served as a law clerk with the firm, where he contributed to reimbursement appeals, audit defense strategies, and provider compliance initiatives. During law school, he completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Thomas M. Moore in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Civil Division.
Alfred earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he completed the Health Law concentration program, and received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Economics & Finance from New York University.
