As part of its continued expansion, national boutique healthcare law firm Frier Levitt announced today the opening of a new Uniondale, New York, office. The new location coincides with the hiring of two of the region’s most reputable clinician healthcare attorneys, Dr. Lawrence F. Kobak, DPM, Esq., and Thomas M. Gallo, PA, Esq., both as Senior Counsel. The new Uniondale office enables Frier Levitt to better serve clients in the Long Island, New York City, and upstate New York areas.
Dr. Lawrence F. Kobak, DPM, Esq., is an attorney and licensed Podiatrist. Prior to joining Frier Levitt, Dr. Kobak was a partner at Kern Augustine, PC, and at Abrams, Fensterman, Eisman, Greenberg, Formato & Einiger, LLP, where he was director of the firm’s Office of Professional Medical Conduct (OPMC) and Office of Professional Discipline (OPD) Defense. He has extensive experience representing physicians in connection with licensure issues, as well as successfully defending physicians before Medical Boards, OPMC, OPD investigations, as well as Medicare Fraud, Fraud & Abuse, Hospital Actions, RAC Audits, Medicare Audits, OIG Fraud, Health Care Fraud, Medical Audits, and Health Plan Billing Audits.
Thomas M. Gallo, PA, Esq., is an attorney and Physician Assistant. Prior to joining Frier Levitt, Mr. Gallo was a partner at Kern Augustine, P.C. His practice includes professional license defense, administrative and other licensure matters, employment and institutional privilege concerns, reimbursement issues, regulatory compliance, risk management, third party payer audits, and other professional practice issues including structuring and managing healthcare practices. He has extensive experience in medicine as a healthcare provider, administrator and educator. He continues to lecture on a wide variety of topics to clinicians at medical and other specialty society functions and to fellows, residents, and physician assistant students throughout New York State. Mr. Gallo also serves as General Counsel to numerous Medical and other Societies.
