Lucas W. Morgan Quoted in Modern Healthcare: “Federal PBM Probe Culminates Decades of M&A” by Nona Tepper and Maya Goldman

The FTC’s recent announcement to increase scrutiny of the business practices of pharmacy benefit managers (“PBMs”) culminates decades of mergers and acquisitions that have allowed a handful of pharmaceutical giants to gain market share and dominate the industry.

Frier Levitt’s Lucas W. Morgan was recently quoted in an article published by Modern Healthcare: “Federal PBM probe culminates decades of M&A” by Nona Tepper and Maya Goldman.

“PBMs kind of fly under the radar because they’re neither an insurance company nor a healthcare provider,” said Lucas. “There was a belief that there was sufficient regulation of the appropriate entities, combined with not completely understanding the role that PBMs played.”
