Payal Amin, Pharm.D, RPH, Esq., Lori Anne Czepiel, Esq., Marc H. Mayer, Esq., and Brenna Sackman, Esq. all joined the Firm in the last two months.
Payal Amin, Pharm. D, Rph, Esq. is a pharmacist attorney in Frier Levitt’s Life Sciences Department where her practice focuses on matters related to pharmacy operations, pharmacy benefit Managers (PBM) regulations, and pharmacy regulatory issues. She counsels clients on an array of issues including insurance and PBM audits and termination, wrongful recoupment, wrongful network exclusion, and other governmental investigations. Prior to joining Frier Levitt, Payal’s legal practice included mass tort litigation involving pharmaceutical drug and medical device product liability including Fosamax, Testosterone Replacement Therapy, Zantac, Hernia Mesh.
In addition to her legal background and prior to becoming an attorney, Payal earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University. Payal is a licensed, practicing pharmacist who has over nine years of experience as a retail pharmacist. Payal leverages her clinical experience in advancing the interests of her pharmacy clients.

Lori Anne Czepiel, Esq., is a seasoned corporate lawyer focused on M&A and private equity transactions in the Firm’s Healthcare and Life Sciences practice groups. Lori Anne advises companies, investors and executives on all types of M&A, private equity, strategic alliance/joint venture and other investment transactions, structuring and handling buy-side and sell-side stock and asset transactions, mergers, auctions, operating agreements, management agreements, shareholder agreements, consulting agreements, financings, governance and outside general counsel matters.
Marc H. Mayer, Esq. has an extensive background in healthcare corporate compliance matters. Prior to joining the Firm, he served as Chief Compliance Officer at a New Jersey healthcare system for over a decade where he was responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive compliance programs for both the hospital and the hospital’s large community-based physician practice network. He has also conducted external audits and handled coding and billing compliance. In addition, he served as the Privacy & Security Officer for the healthcare system, overseeing HIPAA Privacy and Security Rule compliance, developing compliance plans and reviewing external risk assessments.
Mr. Mayer also has vast experience interfacing with various state and federal regulatory agencies regarding licensing and regulatory matters and performing internal investigations.
Brenna Sackman, Esq., is an Associate in Frier Levitt’s Litigation Department. Brenna represents clients in a diverse range of disputes including insurance and Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) network termination, Board of Pharmacy actions, Board of Medical Examiners actions, governmental investigations, and commercial disputes.
