Sam Awad

Sam Awad is an associate in Frier Levitt’s Life Sciences Litigation Group. Sam represents a variety of healthcare professionals in all aspects of litigation and arbitration, including specialty, retail and compounding pharmacies, wholesalers/distributors, health plans, 340(b) covered entities and contract pharmacies, and other healthcare providers. Sam regularly assists pharmacies in audit and network access disputes with Pharmacy Benefits Managers (PBMs). He also frequently counsels pharmacies on strategies to minimize adverse audit results, obtain network access, and avoid network termination. Lastly, Sam advocates on behalf of relators in qui tam actions.

Prior to joining Frier Levitt in September 2023, Sam was an associate attorney for a prominent insurance defense law firm and had prior experience representing healthcare facilities and professionals in complex medical malpractice cases. After law school, Sam was a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Lisa P. Thornton, A.J.S.C, Superior Court of New Jersey, Monmouth Vicinage.

Sam obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers Law School and received a Business Law certificate from Cornell Law School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics & Environmental Business from Rutgers University. In addition to his legal knowledge, Sam is fluent in Arabic.

Along with his work at Frier Levitt, Sam enjoys traveling and is an avid sports fan.
