John E. Morrone (1958-2020)

With a heavy heart and deep sadness Frier Levitt announces the passing of our dear friend, partner, and colleague John E.  Morrone, Esq. who left us suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 17, 2020.  John was an integral part of the Frier Levitt Family as the Managing Partner of our New York Office and Co-Chair of our Health Department. The words “no” and “can’t” were simply not a part of John’s vocabulary and he spent his free time on the front lines as a critical care nurse and paramedic with a major New York City hospital system.  To say that his loss has shaken us, would be an understatement.  As the Frier Levitt family begins to truly grasp this loss, our thoughts are with all who knew this kind, caring man.

Thank you John for your loyalty and dedication to Frier Levitt over the last 13 years. You will be truly missed beyond words.

John E. Morrone Chairs the Firm’s Regulatory and Transaction Life Sciences Group and Co-Chairs the Healthcare Group. He also serves as the Firm’s New York Office Managing Partner. He joined Frier Levitt in 2008 following over twenty years as a senior healthcare executive, holding positions with academic medical centers, and private and publicly-traded physician practice management companies, and healthcare consulting groups. John received his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law School and graduated cum laude. He also holds an MBA from Baruch College/Mount Sinai Medical School in Hospital and Healthcare Administration.

Mr. Morrone is a practicing critical care paramedic and registered nurse currently employed part-time by a prestigious New York hospital system. Due in great measure to his administrative healthcare background, John works with many of Frier Levitt’s clients in the development of business strategies. He also represents clients with Medicare and Medicaid audits, OIG and OMIG Complaints, and licensing board disciplinary matters. In addition to these, John also works on assisting pharmacies with their marketers, marketing materials, employment agreements, and HIPAA plans.
