July 3, 2008, Feds Launch Probe Into Tiki Torch InjuriesThe New Jersey Poison Control has announced their investigation into the Tiki Torch poisonings and now so to have federal agencies. Federal officials announced that they are launching investigations
into eight cases of New Jersey residents being sickened or
killed after consuming patio torch oil they believed was
juice. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission
announced they are determined to prevent further harm. |

"The CPSC takes this issue very seriously and will open an investigation into this matter and work to help ensure that no other residents in New Jersey or across the country are tragically killed or injured by this product," said Scott Wolfson.
Executives of Lamplight Farms Inc. in Menomonee Falls, Wis., which makes the torch oil, also said it is investigating the incidents.
