The Thoratec HeartMate II Left Ventricular Assist System

Have you or a loved one been effected by the Thoratec HeartMate II Left Ventricular Assist System?

If so, you may have a claim for money damages.

Contact Us. We can help.

On October 24, 2008, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a press release advising that Thoratec Corporation was issuing a worldwide medical device correction for its HeartMate II Left Ventricular Assist System.  Patients who have Catalogue No. 1355 or 102139 have reported problems with the system.  Thoratec has determined that wear and tear of the percutaneous lead connecting the HeartMate II LVAS blood pump with the System Controller may require reoperation to replace the pump and could result in serious injury or death.

If you or a loved one have the Thoratec HeartMate II LVAS, you should consult your doctor immediately to discuss your available options.  You can also view information about the Thoratec HeartMate II on the FDA website at http://www.fda.gov/oc/po/firmrecalls/thoratec10_08.html.

If you have experienced problems from the HeartMate II LVAS, you may have a claim for money damages against Thoratec and other responsible parties.
